Perez Says Yes To Si TV

Los Angeles-Si TV, which is aiming to launch an English-language Latino cable channel early next year, has hired Leo Perez as its chief operating officer, officials said last week.

Perez most recently was vice president of international networks, Latin America for Columbia TriStar International Television.

Perez will oversee day-to-day operations at Si TV and also be involved in the rollout of its new cable network in the first quarter of 2001, which is later than originally planned, while the network looks for strategic and financial partners.

Si TV, founded by writer-producer Jeff Valdez and Bruce Barshop, creates English-language, Latino-themed entertainment programming for a multicultural Latino audience.

The cable channel, Si TV Network, will feature original programming such as first-run episodes of Si TV's signature shows like talk show Café Ole and stand-up comedy showcase Funny Is Funny!.
