Investment banker David Granville-Smith is joining A+E Networks as executive vice president and CFO, succeeding Gerard Gruosso, who is retiring after a 30-year career at the company. Smith had been a managing director and head of the Media Group at J.P. Morgan, where he had worked for 23 years.

AMC

International creative exec Kristin Jones, formerly chief creative officer for digital studio Vuguru, has joined AMC as a consultant. She will focus on identifying international scripted content opportunities for the network, including co-productions, format adaptations and series acquisitions.

DICK CLARK PRODUCTIONS

Mark Bracco has been named to the newly created position of executive vice president of programming and development at dick clark productions. A veteran TV executive, Bracco joins the company from ABC Entertainment, where he was vice president, alternative series and specials.

DISCOVERY COMMUNICATIONS

Victoria Lowell, senior vice president of marketing for Animal Planet and Science Channel, has been promoted to executive vice president of marketing for Animal Planet and TLC. She has been at the company since 2000, when she started at Discovery Health and FitTV.

DISH NETWORK

Steve Swain, a corporate finance group vice president at Dish Network, has been promoted to senior vice president, programming. Swain joined Dish in 2011 after 10 years at CenturyLink.

NOKIA

Rajeev Suri has been appointed president and CEO of Nokia following completion of the sale of its Devices & Services business to Microsoft. He originally joined the company in 1995.

RURAL MEDIA GROUP

RFD-TV parent company Rural Media Group in March named Brian Hughes chief revenue and strategy officer and general manager of the company’s Nashville operations. Hughes was most recently an exec at The Outdoor Channel.

TLC

TLC has named Jack Tarantino vice president of production, West Coast, and Elvia Van Es Oliva vice president of development, West Coast, both based in Los Angeles. Tarantino joins TLC from Style Network, where he launched Jerseylicious, and Oliva was previously senior vice president of development for Fly on the Wall Entertainment.

TRIBUNE BROADCASTING

Katherine Green will join Tribune Broadcasting as senior vice president of news effective today (May 5). She spent the last six years at CNN Worldwide, where she was most recently senior vice president/managing editor of HLN.

TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX TV DISTRIBUTION

Scott Gregg has been promoted to executive vice president, sales operations, for Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution. Gregg, based in Los Angeles, has spent more than 18 years at the company, most recently as senior vice president.
