PanAmSat Corp. said Wednesday that Hughes Electronics Corp. president and CEO Chase Carey has been named chairman of its board.
Carey fills the slot previously held by former Hughes president and CEO Jack Shaw, who retired when News Corp.’s deal to acquire 34% of Hughes was finalized in December.
Hughes chief financial officer Bruce Churchill and Hughes senior vice president, controller, treasurer and chief accounting officer Patrick Doyle were also added to PanAmSat’s board.
Hughes owns 81% of PanAmSat.
