Optical-network-technology provider OpVista Inc. lured Jeff DeLazaro away from telecommunications soft-switch maker Cedar Point Communications Inc. to become vice president of sales for North America.
DeLazaro was regional VP of sales at Cedar Point, where he helped the company to build up its business with cable operators.
Milpitas, Calif.-based OpVista specializes in dense-wave-division multiplexing, a technology that separates light frequencies into subchannels and, therefore, boosts capacity in optical networks.
“We are very pleased to add Jeff to our team. He combines the industry knowledge and sales leadership that OpVista needs at this time of rapid growth,” CEO Karl May said in a prepared statement.
