OLN Gets Rights to Gravity Games

Outdoor Life Network said Monday that it has acquired the rights to the Gravity Games.

The September Gravity Games will feature more than 225 world-class action-sports athletes from 13 countries, competing in nine events, the network said. And a 2005 Winter Gravity Games is being planned as an extension of the franchise.

OLN will air more than 20 hours of coverage of the competition, and the network will produce a high-definition feed.

OLN purchased the rights from Octagon Inc., and it has retained Octagon’s services for staging the games in the multiyear deal.

"Outdoor Life Network is extremely committed to the Games," Octagon president and CEO Rick Dudley said in a release. "Octagon will continue to provide marketing, sales and event-operations support, as well as advising OLN on the action-sports industry."
