Univision’s first licensed mobile game app for one of its shows is a thing of beauty.
A mobile and tablet game app for the network’s Sunday evening beauty-themed reality competition Nuestra Belleza Latina was launched in mid-March.
The app, named “Nuestra Belleza Latina Casino,” features this season’s contestants. It’s free to download and play and currently available to Android-based smartphone users. Apple’s App Store plans to add an iOS version of it by the end of April, Univision said.
Univision partnered with game developer and producer Huuuge for the NBL-themed app; Huuuge previously launched eight casino apps, including four that have ranked No. 1 on the Android app store’s “Top Game” chart.
“Nuestra Belleza Latina Casino” lets fans of the series play games along with their favorite contestants and former NBL queens. The app features three slot machines: “The Mansion”, “The Runway” and “The Gala.” Three card games can also be found on the app. Users can also hang out in the “Club de Belleza” gallery, which will be updated throughout the season with photos and videos of the current contestants.
“Our viewers can’t get enough of Nuestra Belleza Latina, now in its ninth season,” Tonia O’Connor, president of content distribution and corporate business development at Univision Communications, said. “We are expanding the successful and growing NBL franchise by partnering with a leading app developer. It’s a partnership that puts us front and center and allows us to break through the consumer challenges of app discovery.”
Univision did not say if mobile and tablet apps are under development for other shows it owns.
