Nickelodeon Joins 'Talking with Kids'

Children's network Nickelodeon said Wednesday that it would partner with the
Kaiser Family Foundation in its public-affairs initiative called 'Talking with
Kids About Tough Issues.'

The joint campaign, set to launch March 8, is designed to help parents and
their children talk about important issues of the day, such as sex, violence and
discrimination.

Nickelodeon spokeswoman Michele Moore said the network plans to conduct joint
research with Kaiser on how parents and children age 11 through 15 talk with
each other.

The initiative will launch public-service announcements on-air, as well as a
larger media campaign across multiple platforms, including educational materials
and links on the network's Web
site
