My Family Is Different
, the 'Nick News' special about gay parents and
their children that was widely denounced on the Internet by Christian
fundamentalist groups for promoting homosexuality, proved a winner with Nielsen
Media Research families Tuesday night.

My Family was the highest-rated Nick News special in three years with a
1.4 household rating and 1.2 million households. Attracting 1.6 million viewers
aged two-plus, the show was also the most-watched Nick News special in three
years.

Among adults 18 through 49, the show ranked as the highest-rated Nick News
special in the franchise's 11-year history, garnering 976,000 of those
watchers.

With teens 12 through 17, MyFamily ranked as the
third-highest-rated Nick News program, averaging 145,000 teens.

The highest-rated Nick News program among teens was a special on Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr., which aired in January 1999. Second was a 1997 special on kids
with physical disabilities.
