NBCU Promotes Blanchard to SVP, Communications

NBC Universal Cable Entertainment Monday promoted Cameron Blanchard to the newly created position of senior vice president of communications for Bravo Media and Oxygen Media. She previously served as senior vice president of communications for Bravo Media.

Blanchard will continue to report to Lauren Zalaznick, NBCU’s president of Women and Lifestyle Entertainment Networks.

In addition to continued oversight of Bravo Media's communications team, Blanchard will expand her responsibilities to include Oxygen Media's communications efforts. In this role, she will oversee the corporate messaging and media outreach for the consumer, trade and business strategies for Bravo and Oxygen. As a member of the senior management team, she will also contribute to the strategic direction of the networks.

Julie Rothman, vice president of communications for Oxygen Media, continues to report to Oxygen general manager Jason Klarman, with “a dotted line relationship” to Blanchard, network officials said. Johanna Fuentes, vice president of communications for Bravo Media, will continue to report to Blanchard.

Before joining Bravo, Blanchard served as vice president of NBC Entertainment Publicity, East Coast, where she was responsible for all East Coast programming publicity.

A veteran NBC press executive, Blanchard joined NBC Entertainment from NBC Sports where she served as senior director of sports communications, where she supervised the communications strategy and outreach for several of NBC Sports' key properties to national print and electronic media and served as a division spokesperson.
