NBCSN Drops Puck on NHL All-Star Weekend Action

After a two-year hiatus, the National Hockey League will bring its All-Star Weekend festivities to Columbus, Ohio.

The NHL's best will gather at Nationwide Arena, beginning on Friday, Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. (ET), with coverage of the All-Star Fantasy Draft. Coverage continues Saturday night at 7 p.m. with the NHL All-Star Skills Competition, before crescendoing at the league's 60th All-Star Game on Sunday evening at 5 p.m.   Emmy Award-winning play-by-play commentator Mike ''Doc' Emrick, analyst Eddie Olczyk and Emmy Award-winning ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuirecall the action.

Columbus was scheduled to be the site of the 2013 showcase, which was cancelled in the wake of the work stoppage that truncated that season, Last year, the top NHLers were in Sochi, Russia for the Winter Olympics.

NBCSN’s drops the puck on its comprehensive coverage from Columbus with the NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft. Kathryn Tappen and Daren Millard will be joined by Pierre McGuire to break down the selections from Chicago’s Jonathan Toews and Columbus' Nick Foligno, who are serving as captains.

Saturday’s coverage of the All-Star Skills Competition starts at 7 p.m. on NBCSN, with Dave Strader (play-by-play), Olczyk, and McGuire delivering live commentary about the hardest shots, fastest skaters, and best shootout moves.

The weekend-long coverage culminates with NBCSN’s live presentation of the 2015 NHL All-Star Game on Sunday at 5 p.m., with Emrick, Olczyk and McGuire on the call.

From there, NBC Sports Group will turn its hockey gaze west, as  NHL Live, NBC Sports Group's pre- and post-game studio show, will originate from downtown Phoenix during Super Bowl week. Beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 27, the program will be located at “Super Bowl Central,” NBC Sports Group’s primary home for studio programing during Super Bowl week.
