NBCSN to Air F1 Chinese Grand Prix Live

NBCSN continues to follow the 2014 Formula One season with its coverage the Chinese Grand Prix, which takes place in Shanghai this weekend. The race will be aired live as it takes place on Sunday, April 20 at 2:30 a.m. ET, but NBCN’s coverage of the event begins Friday with a 2 a.m. ET airing of the practice runs.

The qualifying rounds will air the following day at 2 a.m. ET and re-air Sunday at 1 a.m. prior to the main event.

NBCSN has found ratings success with its Formula One coverage, seeing an increased amount of viewers since it began televising the sport last year. An average of 594,000 tuned in when the network aired the Bahrain Grand Prix on April 6, the most viewers for a non-domestic Formula One race since 2011’s Monaco Grand Prix, which aired on the Speed Channel.

The network’s success is supported by its digital programming as well as NBC Sports Live Extra, the TV Everywhere platform that will also air all of this weekend’s events.
