'Myers' Finds Turner Most Effective

For the second year running, agency and advertising executives responding to a Jack Myers Report survey have has named Turner Entertainment Networks the TV industry's most successful and effective sales organization.

Turner, which had an overall power rating of 60.7 based on six criteria, narrowly topped Discovery Channel/Travel Channel with a 60.1.
The Myers' survey had Comedy Central third at a 59.1, while Nick at Nite/TV Land finished fourth with a 58.2. Rounding out the top 10: Turner Kids (Cartoon Network) with a 57.9; Animal Planet/Discovery Health at a 57.6; Nickelodeon and Fox TV each with a 57.3; Hallmark Channel at a 56.8; and CNN Networks at 56.7.
The Myers survey gauged the sales organization on six key criteria: sales rep competence; sales rep knowledge of programming/product; overall stewardship of schedule; sales rep accessibility; efficient costs per thousands (CPMS); skill at upfront negotiations; and integrated marketing/sponsorship and promotion opportunities.
The survey of 367 executives was conducted in September.
