mun2 Jumps Off the Roof

At least four new series will premiere this fall on mun2Television, Telemundo
Communications Group Inc.'s bilingual cable channel for young Latinos.

In the only weeknight adjustment to its primetime lineup, mun2 will launch
Off the Roof
-- a spinoff of its two-hour variety/entertainment-news
series, The Roof -- at 10 p.m. EST Monday through Friday.

The magazine-format show will track political, lifestyle, sports and culture
trends from Los Angeles and other parts of the Western United States. Hosts and
specific format elements will be named later.

Off the Roof will replace Chat, the live interactive talk hour,
which will move to a primetime weekend slot.

Coming up for weekends will be Lugar Heights, an animated series about
six characters from different Latino backgrounds, produced in Flash style;
Twisted Novela Theater
, where those nightly continuing dramas on
Spanish-language networks get spoofed, Mystery Science Theater 3000-style
(through new voiceovers, lines and editing); and Powergamer, which covers
the video-game scene.

The channel, under NBC Cable Networks' ownership, is available in about 5.8
million homes nationwide.
Earlier this week, mun2 announced that it was
joining the New Generation Latino Consortium, a new organization of media,
research and advertising entities designed to raise the programming and
marketing profile of U.S. Hispanic citizens age 50 and under.

A total of 15 companies are involved in the consortium so far, mun2 being the
only Latino television network at this point. The venture will make its case
through grassroots events, panel-discussion participation at various conferences
and online activity.
