mun2 Gets Presidential With ‘Larrymania’ Promo

As mun2 readies for the Aug. 18 return of reality show Larrymania, the network has released an online vignette depicting star Larry Hernandez as the first Latino U.S. president.

The vignette, “Larry Hernandez: El Presidente,” depicts the comings and goings of the norteño singer as chief executive including his inauguration, comings and goings on Air Force One, his organizing a carne asada with the vice president and his answering all questions in Spanish during a White House press briefing.

Telemundo news personalities Maria Celeste Arraras and Jose Diaz-Balart make cameo appearances during the the four-minute video, part of the second season of the docureality series that broke all ratings records for mun2 when it first premiered in October of 2012. Larrymania marked the largest debut delivery for any mun2 original among adults 18-49 and the largest audience for any reality show premiere in the network’s key demos, according to Nielsen.

The new season will track Hernandez’s biggest concert tour to date, the multi-city “Larryvolucion 2013.” It will follow the singer as he tours California, New York, Arizona and Sinaloa, Mexico, and go behind the scenes of a family photo shoot with an Hispanic magazine.

Larrymania airs in Spanish with English-language subtitles and will premiere Sunday, Aug. 18, at 9 p.m. ET.
