MTV2 Faces the Music
MTV2 announced a new slate of music series and specials Monday.
MTV Networks' 24-hour music network's new music series for the spring and
summer include Track 2, where artists provide running commentary on their
music videos; Spoke `N Heard, an alternative hip-hop video show; a
redesigned version of popular MTV2 interactive video program Control
Freak; and the second in MTV2's series of 22 Greatest specials with
22 Greatest MCs.
MTV2's new weekend lineup will include hip-hop block Sucker Free
Sundays; the return of heavy-metal favorite Headbangers Ball every
Saturday night; and Subterranean every Friday night, highlighting the
best new music from the United States and around the world.
"Everything that we do at MTV2 is based on a foundation of great music and
great music videos," MTV2 general manager David Cohn said in a release.
"Our new weekend music blocks and this slate of music-based programming are a
direct response to what our audience craves -- new music, hip-hop, rock,
interactivity and a deeper connection with artists," he added.
