MSG Names Baker to Gov't Affairs Post

Madison Square Garden Co. named Irene Baker senior vice president, government affairs, effective July 9.
In her new position Baker, a former top staffer of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, will serve as MSG's chief government affairs executive, overseeing all of the company's public affairs matters.
Baker will be responsible for directing MSG's government relations activities, as well as managing all legislative and policy matters in support of the company's businesses both within and outside of New York. She will report to Barry Watkins, executive vice president, communications and administration.

We are certain that her expertise, strong relationships and strategic counsel will be vital as we continue to seek opportunities to grow one of the world's leading sports, entertainment and media companies."
Baker most recently served as Director of Cabinet Affairs for Gov. Cuomo's Office, acting as liaison with cabinet agency commissioners and organizing coordinated communication of Administration priorities across the State. She simultaneously served as Director of the Regional Economic Development Councils for the Empire State Development Corporation
