Motorola Rolls Out New HFC Gear

Motorola Inc. launched four new products for hybrid fiber-coaxial networks at the ANGA Cable 2004 show in Koln, Germany, Wednesday.

The “OmniStar GX2 Mini-Chassis” is a space-saving, cost-effective optical-broadband-transmission platform for system requirements that only require a few application modules, the vendor said.

The “MPN Modular Pedestal Node” is a scalable optical node for pedestal applications that enables operators to cost-effectively enhance their networks as needed.

And Motorola’s two new bidirectional amplifiers -- the “IVK87*/* House Amplifier” and “SLE87*/* Starline Line Extender” -- will help operators to improve signal quality throughout the home.
