Motorola Hires Chief Marketing Officer

Motorola Tuesday announced the appointment of Kenneth C. "Casey" Keller Jr. -- a rising star in the food industry -- as executive vice president and chief marketing officer, responsible for developing and overseeing the company's global marketing efforts.

Keller, who starts Oct. 23, will report to chairman and CEO Ed Zander.

Most recently, Keller was CEO of Heinz Italy after serving as parent company H.J. Heinz's chief growth officer, where he was in charge of defining initiatives to drive growth and strengthening the focus and plans on the company's top brands.

Before joining Heinz, Keller spent 10 years at Procter & Gamble, where he was director of marketing and global development for the company's snacks division.

Keller "has a proven record of highly successful sales and marketing campaigns for some of the world's most widely recognized brands, which makes him an ideal choice for our company," Zander said in a prepared statement.

Motorola's previous CMO, Geoffrey Frost, died in November 2005 (www.multichannel.com/article/CA6284886.html). He was 56. The cause of death was reported to be a heart attack.
