Microsoft Corp. cut a deal with Swisscom Gruppe and Bluewin AG in Switzerland to test and deploy Microsoft TV’s new Internet-protocol television technology.
Bluewin, a broadband Internet-service provider, plans to test Microsoft’s IPTV product on Swisscom’s network.
Microsoft said the "Windows Media 9" software used by IPTV will help operators to conserve bandwidth when they offer live and on-demand programming.
