Oxygen will televise a concert featuring eclectic singer/songwriter
Natalie Merchant on Dec. 21 and also simulcast her performance on the Web.
Up Close and Personal with Natalie Merchant will run
at 8 p.m. on the East Coast, and video of the show will be simultaneously
streamed from Oxygen's Web site (www.oxygen.com/natalie).
It's the third time the women's network has streamed a concert telecast.
Oxygen will re-stream the show three
hours later for West Coast visitors, the network said.
Prior to the concert, online users will have the opportunity to submit
questions that Merchant will answer during the show.
Oxygen will tape the show Dec. 19 at its Manhattan
studios, in conjunction with its launch on Time Warner Cable in New York City
that day, network executives said.
