Marshall Goldsmith To Keynote SCTE Luncheon

Marshall Goldsmith, a top executive coach, will deliver the keynote remarks when the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) hosts its Annual Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Denver, the Society announced Tuesday.

Goldsmith, a member of the faculty of the SCTE-Tuck Executive Leadership Program at Dartmouth, will address the leadership themes that earned him recognition in 2011 as the world’s top leadership thinker at the bi-annual Thinker50 ceremony sponsored by the Harvard Business Review, SCTE said.

Goldsmith’s remarks will follow three awards presentations for SCTE leadership: the Member of the Year Award, the Women in Technology Award, and Hall of Fame recognition.

“Cable’s ability to identify and groom innovative thinkers and new leaders has grown the industry into an indispensable part of the telecommunications landscape,” said Lindsay Johnston, senior vice president, operations for SCTE, in a statement. “The principles espoused by Marshall Goldsmith are essential to the industry’s ability to continue the leadership traditions that are being recognized by our luncheon awards.”

Goldsmith has authored 32 books, including the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestsellers MOJO and What Got You Here Won’t Get You There—the latter a WSJ No. 1 business book and winner of the Harold Longman Award for Business Book of the Year.

Goldsmith has been recognized by BusinessWeek as one of the 50 great leaders in America, by the Wall Street Journal as one of the Top 10 executive educators, and by Forbes as one of the most-respected executive coaches, SCTE noted.

SCTE Cable-Tec Expo is slated to run Sept. 22-25 at the Colorado Convention Center.
