Mark Awards Winners Named

Winners of the Cable & Telecommunications Association for
Marketing/Multichannel News 20th Annual Mark Awards were unveiled during
the CTAM Summit here Sunday.

The Mark Awards recognize excellence in consumer and industry marketing for
the cable and telecommunications industries. A total of 54 gold and 98 silver
winners were selected out of a field of 886 entries.

MTV Networks tied with Showtime Networks Inc. with four Gold Mark Awards
each. Cox Communications Inc. and Time Warner Cable had the most Gold Mark
Awards for cable operators with seven and one, respectively.

In addition to the traditional Gold and Silver winners, the new "Top of the
Mark" award winner was "Fight for Your Rights: Protect Yourself" by MTV: Music
Television. The Top of the Mark recognizes the top-scoring campaign of the
year.

Cartoon Network vice president of trade marketing Tom Alexander is the Mark
Awards committee chair.

The 20th Annual Mark Awards were sponsored by A&E Television Networks,
Hallmark Channel, Home Box Office, Lifetime Television and Showtime
Networks.
