Maria Brennan Named WICT CEO

Women in Cable Telecommunications has hired Maria Brennan, current president of American Women in Radio and Television, as president and CEO, succeeding former WICT chief Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, who accepted a role with USA Track and Field in June.

Brennan joins WICT on Oct. 19.

Brennan has served as AWRT's chief executive since 2002 and was cited for particular expertise in strategic planning, branding strategies, event management and resource development. She's credited with the growth and success of AWRT's "Gracie Awards," the Women's Media Forum and numerous other public service campaigns.

"We are very excited to have someone with Maria's experience to lead WICT," Ellen East, the chair of WICT's board of directors and executive vice president and chief communications officer at Time Warner Cable, said in a release. "She has a tremendous reputation for vision, business acumen and passion for women's issues."
