The cable, broadcasting and direct-broadcast satellite industries will all be
regulated by the same bureau at the Federal Communications Commission starting
March 25. Currently, the three industries fall into different bureaus.
The new Media Bureau will be headed by Kenneth Ferree, now chief of the Cable
Services Bureau. Ferree will be backed up by chief of staff Deborah Klein and
deputies William Johnson and Robert Ratcliffe.
