Insight Communications Co. Inc. said it launched Mag Rack, the niche
video-on-demand magazine-programming service from Rainbow Media Group, in many
markets Wednesday including Louisville, Ky., and Columbus, Ohio.
'The launch of Mag Rack on our Insight Digital Gateway is exactly the type of
value-added product we seek to enhance the offerings on that tier and drive
customer usage of the interactive applications,' Insight president and chief
operating officer Kim D. Kelly said in a prepared statement.
She added that Mag Rack 'will also begin our VOD-relaunch efforts, which will
also be further enhanced by upcoming SVOD [subscription VOD] offerings and a
significant expansion of available titles.'
Wednesday's launch covers 214,000 VOD-enabled Insight homes in Louisville,
Lexington, and Covington, Ky.; Bloomington, Lafayette/Kokomo, Anderson, and
Evansville, Ind.; Columbus; and Champaign and Rockford, Ill.
Eventually, Mag Rack -- which offers 40 hours of programming across more than
30 genres -- will be rolled out to the MSO's entire subscriber
