Lynch to Head Galavisión

Galavisión is expected to name Joanne Lynch as its new senior vice president
and general manager Thursday morning.

Lynch, elevated from within parent company Univision Communications Inc.,
succeeds Lucia Ballas-Traynor as leader of the Spanish-language cable
network.

For the past year, Lynch was Univision's VP and national sales manager, based
at company headquarters in Miami. A former Cox Communications Inc. employee
working in various radio-station posts, she joined Univision 11 years ago as a
new-business account executive.

Ballas-Traynor left Galavisión this spring when Univision executed a format
change, replacing a schedule of bilingual entertainment and reality series
produced in the United States by independent sources and aimed at the
18-through-49 Latino audience with a mix of news, information and entertainment
largely drawn from Grupo Televisa S.A., the largest TV organization in Mexico,
and Venevision, which holds similar status in Venezuela.

Univision officials said the format makeover has increased its share of
18-through-49 Latino viewership compared with last summer.

Lynch will relocate to New York for her new job, reporting directly to
Univision TV Networks president and chief operating officer Ray
Rodriguez.
