Cablevision Systems Corp. announced that its Lightpath commercial-services subsidiary is now offering metro-Ethernet and optical-transport services to customers in the New York metro area.
Lightpath said the metro-Ethernet private-line service, dubbed “E-Line,” plus its metro-Ethernet local-area network (E-LAN), will provide small, medium and large business customers with speeds between 10 megabits per second and 300 mbps. Companies can also lease dedicated bandwidth.
The optical transport includes SONET-based (synchronous optical network) OC-48 to OC-192 platforms, as well as gigabit Ethernet ranging from 1.25 gigabits per second to 10 gbps.
