Liberate Launches on Optus

published Liberate Technologies has launched its middleware platform on Pace Micro
Technology plc set-top boxes in Optus Interactive TV's trial in Sydney,
Australia.
Some 3,000 homes will be able to receive near-video-on-demand movies from
Columbia TriStar, among other studios, as well as games from Two Way TV Ltd. and
an interactive-TV matchmaking service from TV Mates.
Consumers can chose from a $39.95-per-month basic interactive package or a
deluxe package for $59.95.
The service also includes TV electronic mail and Internet access. The Two Way
TV games are free during the trial.
