Comedy Central has tapped The Man Show host
Jimmy Kimmel to serve as the host of the upcoming roast of Playboy founder Hugh
Hefner, the network announced.
Kimmel will serve as roastmaster when Hefner becomes the subject of taunts,
jokes and acerbic abuse at The New York Friars Club on Sept. 29.
The channel will then air Comedy Centrals Presents theNY Friars
Club Roast of Hugh M. Hefner as a one-hour edited special on Nov. 4 at 10 p.m.
The edited telecasts of the roasts of Drew Carey (1998), Jerry Stiller (1999)
and Rob Reiner (2000) rank as the highest-rated original specials on the
network.
