J-Lo Flick Boosts TNT

Theatrical hit The Wedding Planner helped Turner Network Television to
secure the top seat in primetime-household ratings last week.

TNT ran the comedy, starring Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey, three
times during primetime last weekend.

The July 11 and 12 runs were tied for fifth among last week’s most-watched
shows, averaging a 3.1 household average, contributing to the network’s 2.3
primetime household-rating average July 7-13, according to an ABC Cable Networks
Group analysis of Nielsen Media Research data.

The drama network finished well ahead of runner-up Disney Channel’s 1.8
average. Lifetime Television and Nickelodeon were tied for third with a 1.7
average, while Cartoon Network was fifth with a 1.6.

A set of ties rounded out the top 10: TBS Superstation and USA Network at a
1.5; and A&E Network, MTV: Music Television and Fox News Channel with a
1.2.

In addition to grabbing the top slot in households, TNT was No. 1 among
adults 18-49 in primetime (1.16 million on average) and total day (614,000),
according to a Turner Entertainment Research analysis of Nielsen data.

TBS placed second among adults 18-49 in primetime (918,000) and total day
(589,000).

In terms of total-day measures, Nickelodeon held its usual spot in first with
a 1.5 household average. Cartoon and Disney were second with averages of 1.3,
ahead of TNT and Lifetime, with averages of 1.2.

Spike TV held the first and second spots for the week among households with
its July 7 presentation of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.’s WWE Raw,
with the 10 p.m.-11 p.m. hour pinning a 4.5.

Monk continues to boost USA’s ratings, scoring a 3.1 for its July 11
showing.

TNT’s Law & Order and Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants
made their presence known among the top 10, with ratings bests of 3.0 and 3.1,
respectively.

Although TNT’s Prince Charming was the industry’s top original film
for the week among adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 -- as well as the corresponding
female demos -- the movie’s July 13 premiere averaged a 2.3 household rating
from 8 p.m.-10 p.m., placing it in a tie for 51st among the week’s
highest-rated shows, according to the ABC analysis.
