Interactive Football on Sunday Ticket
By Matt Stump published
In a move that might make Rupert Murdoch smile, DirecTV Inc. is enlisting the help
of GoldPocket Interactive Inc. to add interactive elements to its "NFL Sunday Ticket"
package.
Subscribers to the package will be able to follow minute-by-minute
developments of most National Football League games each week and receive "alerts" when teams are close
to scoring and when significant plays have taken place.
That information, along with streamed statistics, are designed for the more than
15 million fantasy-league sports fans in the United States.
DirecTV will carry four addition channels (702-705) where subscribers can
watch one game and see scores and stats from other games all on one
screen.
