Insight Communications Co. Inc. announced Thursday that it has agreed to
manage ad sales in Illinois for Mediacom Communications Corp.'s OnMedia
division.
The agreement covers 80,000 cable subscribers in the state.
The three major headends covered under the arrangement -- Gibson City,
Kincaid and Good Hope -- were previously managed by Cox Communications Inc.
Insight now services "the vast majority of the DMAs in Peoria,
Champaign/Springfield and Quincy," Insight Media vice president Kevin Dowell
said in a prepared statement.
Consequently, local advertisers will now have "the convenience of one-stop
shopping in the marketplace," he added.
