Helicopter Crashes During Ripley's

A helicopter hired by Sony Pictures Television to shoot a Ripley's Believe It or Not segment for TBS Superstation crashed Sunday in Kingman, Ariz.

Sony spokeswoman Paula Askanas said three people in the helicopter -- none of whom worked for Sony or TBS -- suffered minor injuries.

The helicopter was in Kingman to record an unusual world record: Tony Evans created a 2,534-pound ball made of more than 6 million rubber bands, and the people at Ripley's thought it would be fun to drop it from an airplane.

Askanas said the helicopter crashed when it hit some power lines while recording footage of trucks on the ground -- not while tracking the giant rubber-band ball.
