HBO Homers with 61*

Home Box Office knocked one out of the park with original film 61*
April 28.

The premiere of Billy Crystal's ode to the New York Yankees and Roger Maris'
and Mickey Mantle's pursuit of Babe Ruth's then-home run record during the 1961
season scored a 9.7 rating within HBO's universe, according to Nielsen Media
Research data. That translates into some 3.2 million households.

The performance was the highest by an HBO film since If These Walls Could
Talk II
produced an 11.5 rating for its debut in May 2000.

'We're happy. The numbers speak for themselves,' an HBO spokesman said.
'61* was definitely a home run.'
