NEW YORK -CNN Headline News president Bob Furnad last Friday announced his retirement, breaking the news just one day after the merger of America Online Inc. and Time Warner Inc. closed. Furnad plans to teach journalism full time at the University of Georgia and will consult local TV stations.
A replacement for Furnad will be named in the coming weeks, CNN said.
Also last week, Jeff Greenfield signed a multiyear contract renewal with Cable News Network. Terms weren't disclosed.
