Funding for XOS
By Matt Stump published
XOS Technologies Inc. -- which provides advanced digital-video-editing and scouting solutions for coaches and athletic administrators -- has completed a $25 million financing round from some cable-related sources.
Backers include Comcast Interactive Capital Group, Liberty Associated Partners LP, Blue Chip Venture Co. and Dorchester Capital Ltd.
“New Internet and on-demand platforms enable sports fans to access content not yet available on television, which has the potential to expand the college-sports entertainment market,” CIC principal David Horowitz said in a prepared statement.
XOS said its management platform would allow sports organizations to offer Web sites, premium-content capabilities, streaming video of games, direct e-mail marketing, merchandising and online auctions.
