Fox Sports Mobile and Advanced Platforms plans to use Digitalsmiths' personalized video discovery technology to deliver more relevant content recommendations to its users, in an expansion of the companies' relationship.
Digitalsmiths' Seamless Discovery incorporates an array of features -- such as personalized search, recommendations and browsing, social trending, mood-based recommendations and a business rules engine for connected devices -- to suggest relevant TV shows, movies and live events.
"Our business is centered around the fan and getting them the content they want, when they want it and how they want it," Clark Pierce, senior vice president for Fox Sports Mobile and Advanced Platforms, said in a statement. "Through our relationship with Digitalsmiths, we're able to create a better platform for our user by ensuring we have the best technology in place."
Other customers of Durham, N.C.-based Digitalsmiths include Warner Bros., Paramount, Turner Broadcasting System, the NBA, the PGA and NASCAR. Privately held Digitalsmiths is backed by .406 Ventures, Aurora Funds, Chrysalis Ventures, Cisco Systems and Technicolor.
