Former Hulu Exec Joins MoviePass

Movie theater subscription service MoviePass said former Hulu exec Erantzeri Corona has joined the company as vice president, marketing, customer acquisition.

At Hulu, Erantzeri was first responsible for conceiving and implementing subscriber engagement and retention efforts with a team that he built around those initiatives.

MoviePass said the hiring comes on the heels of its partnership with AMC theaters to offer the U.S.’s first IMAX, 3D Premium movie theater subscription service, which is being trialed in Denver and Boston. The company claims to offer subscriptions for standard movie formats on more than 90% of all U.S. screens.

"As an emerging brand that is setting a new standard for moviegoing, we're thrilled to have Erantzeri join our team," Stacy Spikes, CEO of MoviePass, said in a statement. "At our core, we're an innovation company that seeks to make moviegoing cool, fun, and easy. We're excited to have a strong marketing leader in Erantzeri to help us communicate this message to movie lovers around the country."

"Consumer habits are changing rapidly and the subscription model is now being embraced across all media types and screens. It's very exciting for me to join such a dynamic team at such an opportune time in the movie industry's evolution," added Erantzeri.
