Two veteran cable engineering executives, Jim Faust and Oleh Sniezko, have
taken positions at Optinel Systems and Aurora Networks, respectively.
Faust has been named CEO of Optinel, which is pitching its 'Plexia MFX'
optical transport system to cable operators. The high-capacity transport system
is designed for headend-interconnection, video-on-demand, high-speed-data and
cable-telephony applications.
Faust most recently had been CEO at ClearBand LLC, and he was also the
longtime president of Zenith Electronics Corp.'s Zenith Cable Products.
Sniezko was named chief technology officer at Aurora, which also provides
optical-networking transport systems to cable operators. Sniezko had been vice
president of engineering at AT&T Broadband.
