The California Cable & Telecommunications Association and Reed Television
Group (formerly Cahners Television) announced plans for the third annual 'The
Bandies' awards show, to be held Dec. 4 at the Grove Theatre in Anaheim,
The Bandies, which honors excellence in broadband content, will be held in
conjunction with BroadbandPlus -- The New Western Show, the broadband industry's
premier trade show.
In response to the need for expanded recognition in this growing field, the
award roster for 2002 includes:

\u0007 Best Interactive-TV Local or Community Content
\u0007 Best Interactive-TV Sports Content
\u0007 Best Interactive-TV Music Application
\u0007 Best Interactive-TV Advertising Campaign
\u0007 Best Interactive-TV Commerce Campaign
\u0007 Best Enhanced-TV Content
\u0007 Best Virtual-Channel Content
\u0007 Best Content for VOD/PVR (video-on-demand/personal video recorders)
\u0007 Best Two-Screen Content
\u0007 Best Broadband/Online Content
\u0007 Newest New Thing (Award for Innovation)
\u0007 Best Advanced Set-Top Box
\u0007 Network Operator of the Year
\u0007 Best of Show
Detailed descriptions for all of the awards, rules for entry and schedule
will be made available as part of the call for entries, which will be announced
July 1. The deadline for entries is Sept. 15.
