Ex-LG Exec Joins Simulmedia
Wendell Wenjen, a former LG Electronics exec focused on interactive television and advertising, has joined New York-based targeted ad firm Simulmedia in the newly created position of vice president, business development.
Wenjen, to be based in San Francisco, will head up all business development efforts for Simulmedia on the West Coast, including the company’s relationships with TV manufacturers, digital video companies and ad tech companies.
Wenjen most recently served as director of interactive TV and advertising platforms at LG. During that span, he launched LG’s linear interactive TV service with Showtime Networks last year, and kicked off LG’s TV viewing analytics business by creating relationships with media research, media planning and advertising targeting partners.
Wenjen is also late of Intel and Hughes Aircraft, where he developed air traffic control system software. He holds an MBA in marketing from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management and Bachelors of Science and Master of Engineering degree in electrical engineering from Harvey Mudd College.
"Wendell is one of most experienced and talented technologists and executives in leveraging consumer devices for ad delivery and targeting. He has spent 20 years at Silicon Valley technology companies in business development and marketing roles developing new products, services and markets,” said Simulmedia CEO Dave Morgan, in a statement. "We are pleased to expand the Simulmedia footprint on the West Coast with Wendell at the helm."
Simulmedia said its targeted ad platform uses predictive technologies and anonymous viewing data from more than 50 million U.S. TV viewers, noting that it has helped more than 50 advertisers and their agencies target, deliver and measure hundreds of campaigns over the past year.
