Former Black Entertainment Television news personality Tavis Smiley has
signed deals with several media companies for appearances on a number of
broadcast and cable networks.
Smiley will appear as a correspondent or regular contributor on Cable News
Network and on ABC's Prime Time Thursday and Good Morning America,
as well as on ABC Radio and National Public Radio. In addition, he's developing
a talk show with Buena Vista Television.
BET fired Smiley as host of BET Tonight in April after he failed to
offer the network an exclusive interview with a former Symbionese Liberation
Army fugitive. The interview was eventually sold to ABC.
