ESPN Motion Tops 1M Downloads

ESPN.com (http://espn.go.com/main.html) announced
Thursday that its new "ESPN Motion" tool -- which enables broadband users to
view high-quality video clips ranging from game highlights to commercials -- has
topped 1 million downloads since it bowed Feb. 17.

That averages out to 100,000 downloads per day, according to ESPN.com.

In that short time frame, vice president and editor in chief Neal Scarborough
said in a prepared statement, consumer response has been "massive and
immediate."

He added, "When ESPN Motion launched, our anticipation was to be able to tell
an enhanced story to fans, and it's clearly working."

The video clips have featured highlights from National Basketball
Association, National Hockey League and college-basketball games, as well as
postgame analyses and segments from ESPN's SportsCenter and NBA
2Night
, plus commercials for Stokely-Van Camp Inc.'s Gatorade.

Gatorade signed on as ESPN Motion's first advertiser.
