ESPN Books Three for Wimbledon
By Jim Forkan published
ESPN and ESPN2 announced Tuesday that three advertisers so far have signed up
as exclusive hour-long sponsors of Wimbledon Championships tennis coverage
during select hours -- General Motors Corp., TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc.'s
Prevacid and Hewlett-Packard Co.
The sponsors will have exclusivity during certain hours of ESPN's weekday
daytime coverage of the tournament, starting Monday, June 30.
Their sponsorship packages include four 30-second spots, on-air mentions as
coverage resumes after breaks, isolated billboard mentions within the hour and
sponsorship of the "Match Summary" feature, along with logo, a spokeswoman
said.
The all-sports network also plans to offer similar hour-long exclusives
during future Australian Open and French Open tennis
tournaments.
