REDWOOD CITY, CALIF. - Ericsson
said it will marry Check Point Software Technologies'"Safe@Home" firewall security software to its "PipeRider" cable modems.
Ericsson said it will use Check Point's software in its Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification- and EuroDOCSIS-based "HM204c" and "HM205c" models, securing them from hackers who might try to steal data. Safe@Home's "gateway" approach also protects multiple PCs and other Internet appliances, the companies said.
