EchoStar Communications Corp. named John Scarborough its new senior vice president of marketing, the direct-broadcast satellite provider confirmed last week.
He joins EchoStar from Qwest Communications International Inc., where he was a vice president of marketing.
Scarborough, who started with EchoStar last week, replaces former senior vice president of marketing Ira Bahr. Bahr resigned in February to join Denver-based programming start-up Bingo TV.
EchoStar sells DBS service under the Dish Network brand. It hopes to merge with its largest competitor, DirecTV Inc., pending regulatory approval.
