OpenTV Corp. said EchoStar Communications Corp. has launched its "PlayJam" gaming service to 7 million OpenTV-enabled subscribers.
PlayJam offers Dish Network subscribers an entry level of games free-of-charge. Additional gaming levels cost subscribers $4.99 per month.
OpenTV plans to use the 300 games it has in its library on a rotation basis.
