The U.S. District Court in San Francisco Friday granted EchoStar Communications Corp. a temporary restraining order allowing its Dish Network direct-broadcast satellite service to continue airing Viacom Inc. and CBS channels.
"We are pleased that the court recognizes that the interest of the public is served by this temporary restraining order against Viacom and CBS; but we are especially pleased that the American TV viewer will have uninterrupted access to the public airwaves," EchoStar said in a prepared statement.
