Dude! Jim Dolan’s BandTo Open for The Eagles

Save the date. Cablevision Systems
CEO James Dolan and his rock band,
JD and the Straight Shot, will be out on tour
in June, playing nine dates opening for
country-rock legends The Eagles, The Dixie
Chicks and “sometimes” Keith Urban,
including a June 10 gig at the new football
stadium in the Meadowlands in East
Rutherford, N.J.

Dolan and his band are
no strangers to the road —
they have opened for legendary
Eagles and James
Gang guitarist Joe Walsh
during his North American
tours. Walsh also appeared
as a guest on the
band’s 2008 sophomore release
Right on Time.

Dolan also told The Wire
he and his band are working
on a follow-up to Right
on Time
, a six-song CD that
should drop in June — including fi ve tunes
penned by Dolan himself. For a sample of

Volcanic Ash Grounds
‘River Monsters’ Host

Extreme angler Jeremy Wade has tangled with
flesh-eating piranhas, demon fi sh and huge,
toothy catfish for his Animal Planet series River
Monsters. But another force of nature, the volcano
eruption in Iceland, shut Wade down from
traveling by plane from Bristol, England, to New
York for last Wednesday’s party ahead of the
April 25 debut of season 2. (For more, see http://animal.discovery.com/tv/river-monsters/)

Via Skype, though, Wade still managed to
enthrall party goers with stories of perilous
encounters with sea-bearing predators.

He might reschedule his trip to New York
City — and bring a camera crew. He said he has
an interest in seeking out unique and potentially
dangerous fish in the East River. What, no
sewer gators?
