The Walt Disney Co.’s board of directors issued a statement late Tuesday saying that it would seek to announce a successor for CEO Michael Eisner “as soon as possible, with an expected date of completion of June 2005.”
The board said it would work with Eisner -- who announced last week that he would resign after his contract expires Sept. 30, 2006 -- to assure a smooth transition.
